TV science personality/legend Hart-Davis was educated at Eton College and did his Pd.D. in Organometallic Chemistry at York after a chemistry degree at Oxford. He began his work in broadcasting in 1985 when he joined Yorkshire Television as a researcher, he quickly progressed to production work before moving in front of the camera in the early 1990s when his pink and yellow folding bicycle had its frist outing. Despite being the one of the figureheads of British science broadcasting he is often critical of it for 'dumbing down'.
