All classes take place in the Dance Studio in the Sports Centre. Beginners Class is held on Monday's 5pm till 6pm. Everyone is welcome, even those who ave never danced. Lesson's are easy to follow and move at a suitable pace for beginners. Beginners need not own their own ballet shoes, however, if you have some then by all means bring them along. Advanced Class is held on Monday's immediately after the Beginners Class, it runs from 6pm till 7 pm. Advanced dancers are usually RAD grade 4 or above, classes are more fast paced and include more steps with higher level of difficulty. As advanced ballet is a more strict dicipline dancers usually wear the standard 'leotard and tights' combo. You are allowed to wear a t-shirt and shorts over the top, but trousers and hoodies are not generally allowed. Membership costs £5 for a year. In addition to this members must pay £3 for each class. This fee covers the cost of hiring a professional teacher and renting the Dance Studio.

[edit] Socials

The Ballet Society have on average 2-3 'socials' per term, as lessons are not the most sociable places to meet new people, the society aims to have social times outside lessons where members can relax and get to know one another.
