Comedy Soc organises events and supports stand-ups, writing and improv.

The Comedy Slot is on Wednesdays in V/045 at 7:30. This features their improv group "The Shambles" on even weeks and "Have I Got News for York" on odd weeks.

They are taking The Shambles and a written show, "Cheerio: The End of the World Show" to Rocket Venues at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe.

The Comedy Society was started in 2005. It took a show, "Chipping Stortford" to the Edinburgh Fringe in summer 2006. They have a sketch group, "The Preliminary Sketches" and a writer's group. They also had a radio show in 2006-07, "The Bracketeers". To kick-start fundraising for the Edinburgh Fringe, they performed 24 hours of live, continuous comedy on the 1st-2nd December 2007.
