The Derwent Privilege System was launched in October 2006. It offers members of Derwent College the chance to purchase a D.I.P. card, which gives benefits such as:
- Discounts on Christmas and Easter ball tickets, trips and other events (e.g. half-price Derwent Bar Crawl tickets) - 10% discount on Derwent merchandise - Discounts in some shops and bars in York and Leeds, e.g. Ha!Ha! Bar, Ali G's Pizza House, Oceana, Evolution, Joosey Moosie, La Place Vert, York Walks, Nail Bar One - The chance to buy Club D tickets a day before other students
The money raised through selling the D.I.P. card is put into the JCR and the events it runs.
Membership lasts for the full academic year.
