York's award-winning student-run DramaSoc puts on productions at its own studio venue, the Drama Barn, every weekend. From Shakespeare and the classics to In Yer Face and student writing, DramaSoc has something for everyone.

Every Monday night in the Barn is Open Drama Night, where anybody can do anything. If you'd like to do something radical, experimental or downright mad in the Barn, please contact the ODN reps.

Aside from over 7 plays a term, Dramasoc regularly participates in the National Student Drama Festival where our members frequently win prestigious awards.

Dramasoc also has a longstanding reputation for drama outreach projects, including prisons and schools.

Getting involved in Dramasoc is easy! Auditions for plays are held at the end of every term (Week 2 in the Autumn Term) and are widely publicised. If you would prefer to work behind the scenes then feel free to contact a member of committee or come along to Open Meeting - every Wednesday, 1:30pm in VX331.

Week 4 - A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller

Week 5 - Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn

Week 6 - The Pitchfork Disney by Philip Ridley

Week 7 - What the Butler Saw by Joe Orton

Week 8 - Six Characters in Search of an Author by Luigi Pirandello

Week 9 - Instinct (devised)

Weeks 2-4 have already been cast, but all other will be auditioning in Week 2 of the Autumn term. Come along!!
