The Science & Technology Studies Unit (SATSU) is a part of the Department of Sociology.
It is a specialist unit dedicated to the "rigorous analysis of the social dynamics informing contemporary and prospective science and technology."
SATSU was founded by Professor Andrew Webster in 1988 and has since grown now to a core staff of 8, with 11 Associate Research Fellows from both the UK and overseas.
It has established an international reputation and in the past has received funding from various bodies including the European Parliament, European Commission and UK National Lottery.
