[edit] 81.98.167.119's clearing of content copied from thestudentroom

"removed info in this article which was copied direct from www.thestudentroom.co.uk. Plaigarism is not good - people (me included) did not write this information for TSR for other sites to steal it."
  • Plagiarism is claiming to have written the contributed content. Authors of yorkipedia claim either have written it or to have obtained it from the public domain or compatible source, therefore this is simply a case of copyright infringement. For the record, www.thestudentroom.co.uk wiki is not GFDL compatible and hence content should not be copied from that site to here. However the original authors retain their ownership and copyright over the material posted, so we would be allowed to use the content if we obtained permission to publish under GFDL from each original author (which most likely isn't practical, and if the editor has contributed to the linked page then he for one probably won't agree). --James Hogan 07:44, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
