The Viking Raid bar crawl was introduced as part of Freshers' Fortnight 2006.

The 1500 students who took part were given t-shirts to divide them into two groups. Each group followed a different route around York city centre.

Blue t-shirts ended in Toffs nightclub and yellow t-shirts ended in the Gallery.

The event in 2006 was a sell-out. It is thought that the Viking Raid will now be an annual event.
